Why do we need lower taxes? |
We need lower taxes because the bulk of tax increases have been placed on the shoulders of
small businesses that employ 90% of our workforce. In 2002, local and state government
spending was $93 billion. In 2006, that number went to $151 billion. Because of
Save Our Homes most of that increase was placed on the back of our small business employers.
We need lower taxes now to ensure the survival of small business.
We need lower taxes to fight the increasing cost of living in Florida. Apartment renters
and homeowners face higher rents and taxes that have increased the cost of living in Florida.
As the cost of living increases, that quality of life declines. People moved to Florida
in the past because it was affordable and offered a good quality of life.
We need to lower taxes now to restore the quality of life in Florida.
We need lower taxes now because second homeowners, who are a vital part of the Florida
economy, are leaving Florida by the thousands. Florida had 670,000 second homeowners who
came every year and contributed to our economy. Because of higher taxes made worse by
Save our Homes, these out of state residents are leaving Florida. This weakens our
economy and creates a glut of homes.
We need to lower taxes now to keep our second homeowner guest and help our economy.
